Hello, I'm Jessica J.

Hello! My name is Jessica and I am going into my 4th year teaching 4th grade. I absolutely love teaching and take great pride in being a "school mama" for my students. I work very hard to provide an engaging, safe, and positive learning environment for all students. Student success in and out of the classroom is very important to me. I have several different experiences in the field of education. My most current position is a regular education teacher. I teach all subject areas and am also in the co-teaching classroom. This means that I work closely with a special education teacher during math, reading, and writing to accommodate students who have a variety of disabilities. In addition to my experience as a teacher in the co-teaching setting I have worked as a teachers aid in elementary special education. During this time I was responsible for creating and implementing differentiated math lessons according to students needs and goals. I worked with small groups of students according to their grade level and IEP goals. Lastly, I have had experience as a long-term substitute in 3rd and 1st grade. Not only am I a teacher, but I am also a wife and mother of 2 amazing children. I love spending time outside, doing hands-on activities, and trying new things. I am currently finishing the MAT program at the University of the Cumberlands and will be graduating this December with my Masters degree.
