Hello, I'm John E.

Hi! My name is John and I am a Special Education Teacher. I've been formally teaching for 11 years after having raised my two foster/adopted sons, one with Aspergers and the other with ADHD and a cognitive delay. I have raised them the last 12 years by myself. I teach elementary, middle and high school students and specialize in students who have Emotional Disabilities, ODD, ADHD ADD, OCD, Anxiety and Depressive conditions. I am a Christian. My hobbies include playing with my 3 dogs, sailing, golf, tying flies and fly fishing. I like to bowl, attend concerts and watch sports live or on television. I believe that all children will behave well when they are able and when they cannot it is usually because of one or more coping skills they have not yet learned. There is no such thing as a "bad" child. I believe in meeting students where they are at and teaching from that point forward rather than assuming they know and understand age-driven/grade level curriculum. In addition to teaching I tutor as well. I am considered to be highly education in the areas of Special Education and English.
